1. Petronas Towers

For 10 years these two towers were considered the tallest skyscrapers in the world! Each rises 451 m, with 88 floors inside, and to go up you need to buy a sightseeing ticket. It is worth it! A walk across the skybridge connecting the twin towers will be one of the brightest impressions of your trip to Malaysia.

2. Menara Tower

Another high-rise landmark of Kuala Lumpur, with a revolving restaurant with panoramic windows and an observation deck at the top.

3. 3. Merdeka Square

In 1957, an event of huge importance for Malaysians took place on this square – the national flag, symbolizing the independence of the state, was raised into the sky. Today around Merdeka Square you can see beautiful old buildings left from the colonial era: the City Council, the General Post Office, and the Information Department. The Royal Club and the Sultan Abdul Samad Building are also here.

4. Sultan Abdul Samad Building

This luxurious Moorish-style building was erected by the British in honor of Sultan Abdul Samad in 1897. But the sultan himself never got to live in it. Immediately after it opened, the British administration moved in, and later courts of various levels were housed here. Today this splendid building is home to the Ministry of Culture.

5. Jamek Mosque

A beautiful old mosque that is ready to open its doors even to tourists who do not practice Islam. It was built more than 100 years ago, but thanks to its red-and-white walls and refined decor, it still looks striking and festive today.

6. National Mosque (Masjid Negara)

The main mosque of Malaysia. It was built right after the country gained independence in the middle of the 20th century. Its scale is impressive: the minaret rises 73 meters, and the prayer hall can accommodate up to 8,000 worshippers. During services the mosque is closed to non-Muslim tourists, but you can still walk around the surrounding grounds, which are also beautiful and very well kept.

7. 7. National Museum

The National Museum consists of four main halls filled with thousands of exhibits telling the story of Malaysia's history and culture. Even from the outside, this collection looks unusual and intriguing. The building was designed in the rumah gadang style and decorated with mosaic panels by Italian masters.

8. Bird Park

This is probably one of the most interesting parks in Malaysia. More than 2,000 birds live here in “free-flight” conditions. The park is covered with netting from above so that the rarest residents, gathered from all over the world, do not scatter. Inside, however, the birds can fly freely between trees and bushes, wander along the paths with visitors, and even raise their young almost as if in the wild.

9. 9. National Palace

An architectural ensemble of astonishing beauty, surrounded by gardens and fountains! Until recently it was considered the sultan's official residence, but now the ruler and his family live elsewhere, and this palace has become a Royal Museum. On display here are outfits, jewelry, interior items, official symbols of power, and even passports that belonged to the sultan and his wife.

10. 10. Batu Caves

A natural attraction that would be unforgivable to miss. These caves lie 13 km from the capital, but getting there is not difficult at all. Once you arrive, you will see majestic cliffs and giant gilded statues. To get inside, you have to climb 272 steps and fight an uneven battle with hungry, nimble monkeys. The unforgettable spectacle waiting inside makes it all worthwhile!
